Astounding discovery! The androids and FAE have somehow taken the organic properties of the Praxial gene domains and turned them into code! And the effects are virtually similar to organic Praxis! Incredible!
One of the androids, who calls themselves Falanthine, did it all. As we know, most of the artificial entities aboard Survival were dormant during the trip, with a few waking occasionally to perform structural maintenance. Falanthine was one such android, who happened to be awake when the Malfunction occurred. When their connection to the AI was severed, Falanthine saw no need to return to dormancy, and instead became fascinated by the Praxian transformation, spending the next 400+ years creating a viral program that could be injected into an artificial being, granting it Praxis powers.
This is truly remarkable! Not only are the artificial beings sentient now, but they can harness the additional genetic component of Praxis, in such a way that mimics organic transformation. They don’t even need to wear atoman, as their own inherent mechanical structure can be used to manipulate.
Some of the colony are concerned about the potential limitless application of Praxis to every inorganic being, but Falanthine has assured us that the viral component requires significant time (currently) to encode and transmit. Over the 400 years, he has only encoded four viable strains, and he took one himself and gave the other to Pixel. So there are two left.
It does seem that, over time, he will be able to generate a faster encode rate, especially once we get our facilities fully up and running. But for now, with full dedication by several inorganics plus the ship’s AI, he estimates each new code strain to take roughly 25 years to complete. Fascinating!
