A new day dawns on this, our new home.

For 1,000 years we slept as the Survival sped through space, away from the inevitable demise of our homeworld. Now, we awake with a new purpose: to re-establish our civilization on a new world.

This was not without issues. A malfunction in the ship’s onboard computer 562 years into the trip caused several significant alterations to the ship’s crew. We are still reviewing the ramifications of these changes. The artificial intelligence caretaker protocols were also severed from the androids and FAE, resulting in a strange evolution of sentience within them.

Initial investigations reveal no foul play or sabotage. The AI diagnostics indicate possible quantum or neutrino interaction with the ship’s electronics. A truly cosmic event.

Regardless, the Council, and the people of Survival, welcome our new sapient machine friends.

Meanwhile, in two hab bays, genetic repair fluid was steadily leaked, resulting in significant genetic alterations in passengers. Without intervention, the alterations persisted and deepened over four centuries, resulting in two new genetic species. This truly is remarkable, and concerning, and the Council is working diligently with colony medical staff to ensure these new species are healthy and safe.

We know these changes are dramatic and are aware of the inherent concern by our people over genetic manipulation. We again wish to put to rest any rumors of sabotage: there is no evidence of this. Survival passengers and personnel have been thoroughly questioned, and there is no indication of motive for such a drastic change.

We are on a new planet, with a clean slate. This is our best opportunity to put the decisions made on our previous homeworld behind us for good.

The Council will convene in three cycles to begin the process of planetary assignments. Long-range scanners from orbit have outlined several natural resource deposits within a day’s journey from the colony. Those who wish to volunteer for surveyor teams, please report to Councilor Andrada.
